6th PIANGO Council and 2008 Pacific Regional CSO Forum Announcement
The 6th Pacific Islands Association of Non Governmental Organisations (PIANGO) Council and the 2008 Pacific Regional CSO Forum will be held back to back at the Rendezvous Hotel in Auckland, New Zealand from the 10th to the 14th August, 2008.
The PIANGO Council brings together PIANGO members known as National Liaison Units from 22 Pacific nations, together with invited guests and observers, to discuss PIANGO internal issues and concerns every three years. The 6th PIANGO Council will be held on the 10th and 11th August.
The annual Pacific Regional CSO Forum is the meeting of the CSO representatives from the Pacific region. The 2008 Regional CSO Forum will be focusing on the consolidation of the NGO sector for a better Pacific.
The Forum will focus its deliberations on issues on Energy and Climate change, Peace & Security, Human Rights & Self Determination, Health, Livelihood, Education and Trade & Justice. The Pacific Regional CSO forum will be held on the 12th – 14th August.
